BOY DIES AFTER ANSWERING CALL FROM DYING MOTHER

 When Ahamefule Ntukogu, a  seventen year old apprentice mechanic bid good night to his uncle with whom he was staying on the night of 3rd June, 2021, little did the uncle know that, that would be the last he would hear from him. Before he went to bed Ahamefule was hale and hearty, but he did not wake up the following  day.

  Narrating the sad story, the deceased uncle Mr Solomon Ntukogu said the young man neither  complained of illnes nor showed any sign that something was wrong. The only thing he complained about was that someone called his name which he answered but could not see the caller. While he was in looking for to the caller, he said he saw a particulat cloth his mother was fond of wearing spread at the backyard and when he moved to where the cloth was spread, It was no longer there.  Since I am a Christian and do not believe in surpestition Mr Ntukogu continued I did not attach any signifiance to what he said. I even told him not to worry, that nothing would happen. He then bid me goodnight and went to sleep. That was around 10.30pm. But by 8 o clock, the following morning he was still in bed, something he had not done before. " I yelled at him to wake up and prepare for work, but there was no response from him.it was when I went to shake him that I found that he was dead "he co his kinsmen in Lagos werel the cause of his death, and looking for how to convey the sad news to his parents, who are living in Umuahia, Abia state, news came from there that his sick mother gave up the ghost, the very hour he  complained of  hearing his name. This news to many of his of kinsmen solved the puzzle of his death. "Ahamefule must have been called to death by his mother" they argued. 

Can this be possible? Can mere answering an unidentified call lead to one's death?

  Rev. ( Mrs) Olayinka Olusola Danso,  retired General Manager, National Mail Distribution Center, Shomolu is 63 years today. In a country where the average life expectancy is 54 and at a time longevity takes the grace of God, attaining such milestone in good health and sound mind is no mean feat and calls for thanksgiving and Celebration.
