LADY LILIAN CHINYEREUGO IHEME BOWS OUT OF NIPOST GRACEFULLY

Everything that has a beginning hs an end. This is life, but what is pertinent is the impact or mark one makes on the sands of time

For Lady Lilian Chinyereugo Iheme, her sojourn in the  Nigerian Postal Service, which began on 12th July,1992 came to an end on 29th October, 2024, when she retired from service, having reached the compulsory retirement age of 60 years and after putting on 32 meritorious  years of service.

The  beauty of the memorable end is that she  left enduring legacies in all the offices she served during her years of service in NIPOST.

Known for her Intellectual Excellence, in addition  to virtues like uprightness, objectivity, intergrity, selflessness, thoroughness and accountability.

Her dedication, loyalty to NIPOST and sense of commitment to any assigment she embarks on  are legendary and worthy of emulation.

For her no task is too big, no place is too far and no purpose is not possible, once it is to be done in the interest of the service.

When she was DM, Asaba District, she brilliantly and efficently coordinated  the affairs of the district, which in turn lifted the standard of service delivery and performance there and in consideration  of this, she was honoured with an  "Award of Excellence Performance" by management of the then Benin zone.

A farewell ceremony was organised in ber honour in Owerri on 29 October, 2024

At the well attended ceremony, various  NIPOST Imo State management staff, including  the State Postal Manager, Mr A.P Egbadon poured encomiums on the woman fondly  called the iron Lady,  as well as prayed for her. They congratulated her for finishing the race in good health and sound mind, as well as appreciated her contributions  to the growth and advancement of NIPOST, adding that it is an accomplishment  that should not be taken for granted

Lady Iheme, flanked by her husband was highly elated and thanked all NIPOST staff for their support that made her to be successful during her years of service

Among those present at the farewell  ceremony were,   Mr. A.P Egbadon, the State Postal Manager, Mrs Nwaneamaka Dim, Head of Human Resources Management, Mrs  Ndidiamaka Orji, Head of Finance and Account, Mr George Iheme of Public Relations Unit and other unit heads.  Also present were Mrs Patience  Ejiogu, retired  District Manager of Owerri Disrict during the zonal structure,  Sir, Nath Iheme, the celebriant husband  and their children.

Born on the 29th October 1964, to the family of Sir Alexander Ehirim and Ezinne Virginia Oguzie of Avu- Owerri Imo State

She  started her early elementary education at Central School, Avu in Owerri West L.G.A, where she sat and passed  her First School Leaving Certificate  Examination in 1974.

She later went to the popular Owerri Girls Secondary School, Imo State, where she passed her West African School Certificate Examination with flying colours, in 1998.

She had her tertiary education at University of Port Harcourt, where she obtained her first degree in 1991 and  University of Lagos, where she bagged her Master's degree in 1998.

He began her career in Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) on 12 July, 1992 as an Investigation Officer II. She rose steadily through the ranks and was promoted to the rank of Deputy Director (I&S) on grade level 16 on 1st January, 2022, the rank she was until her retirement on 29 October, 2029

In the course of her career, she worked in different places at different times, among them are ;

1) NIPOST Ports Operations, Shed Six Apapa, 1992-1994.

2) General Post Office, Marina Lagos: 1995-1997.

5) Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.

6) Asaba District Asaba, as DM

7) NIPOST, Imo State as Head of investigation and security branch

She had the opportunity of heading some of these offices and she distinguished herself very well in effectively piloting the affairs of these offices.

Some few individuals may not stand her personality or leadership style, but the truth must be told no matter whose ox is goored. Lady Lilian C. Iheme paid her dues and deserves the respect of all and sundry as a way to encourage those who are still  active in service to do more, in moving the organisation forward as anything short of this is a great disservice to  NIPOST

Lady Lilian Iheme is happily married to a gentleman per excellence, Sir Nath. A . Iheme. The union is blessed with five children who are doing well in their field of endeavors

She loves writing, playing scrabbles and chess. She is an obsessed fan of World Wrestling Entertainment ( WWE)

We at UbscopeNews join the multitude of NIPOST staff to congratulate Lady Lillan Iheme for a successful blemished free career. We equally congratulate her for joining the pantheon of  Diamond jubilee celebrants in good health and sound mind.

As she begins the next phase of life, we pray that Almighty God should grant her good health and prosperity.
