HAS THE MAN THAT STABBED HIS GIRL FRIEND TO DEATH ESCAPED JUSTICE,


 There is every indication that the young man who reportedly stabbed his girlfriend to death has been released from police custody,

It would be recalled that a young man in his early twenties named Light Okwuonu was arrested in Eziama Ubakala , Umuahia after stabbing to death his girlfriend, Miss Glory James (25) a final year Student of Micheal Okpara University, Umudike and a team Player Of Abia Angels F.C,

The incident was said to have Occurred at Okwuonu's place in Umueze , Eziama Ubakala when Miss Glory refused his love advance.

According to a credible source following the agreement reached by the family of the deceased and that of the culprit, the former decided to discontinue with the prosecution of the case . 

Some conditions enunciated by the family of the deceased to discontinue the prosecution of the case, which were met by the culprit include:-

(a) payment of the sum of N2million to late Glory's family. The sum of N40millions was initially proposed, but  was later slashed down to N2 millions,

(b) Light Okwuonu to marry the deceased at death ,

(c) the corpse of late Miss Glory James to be taken to Okwuonu's family compound for burial,

On the day of the burial , Ubscope News Observed that when her corpse was taken from God speed mortuary Mgbarakuma Ubakala for burial, there was stoppage at her father's compound in Umuogo Ubakala, before proceeding to Eziama for lying in state and burial .This further confirmed that the culprit assented to the stipulated conditions.


How ever , when Ubscope News' Reporter went to Eziama to confirm if Light Ukwuonu had been released or not the man we met who preferred his name not to be disclose was evasives to our questions.The only statement he made was "when Glory's family went to Umuahia, state C.I.D to inform them that they have settled and wished to discontinue with the case, the officer handling the case replied that Ukwuonu cannot just be released like , because it is a murder case.




Although all efforts to get the true picture from the police proved abortive, but there is a general belief that if the police have not released him, the Unknown Gunmen ravaging the South East might have in advententtly released him.
