I WOULD HAVE BECOME A MOTOR MECHANIC",- PHARM.CHIDIEBERE OKORIE NGOZI

Pharm Chidebere Okerie, the chief Pharmacist at Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja and the former President General of Ubakala Clan Union (Federated) would have become a motor mechanic , if he had not realized the fact early enough in life and mended his ways.

That singular realization/ changed his life totally for good and has today, placed him in an exalted and enviable position above his peers.

He is an Alumni of Ubakala Secondary School lsukwe and was elected the President General of Ubakala Clan Union (Federated) in 1st April, 2008 at the age of 38years, to become the youngest President General in Ubakala. thanks

According to him,

"At the early stage of my life , I was not doing well in class at all. As a result of my poor academic Performance, my father wanted me to learn a trade such as motor mechanic. I thought of how my elder brother, who was then in the University would come out a graduate and myself would be a motor mechanic. That made me feel bad over my father's suggestion to me to learn a trade. I then decided and ran away from home to my mother, where I decided to mend my ways outright to become a better person. That was the turning point in my life while I was with my mother"

"I got seiouss with my studies and planned my time. I  would buy TomTom sweet to placate those I know were brilliant in my class so that we could study along together. That worked the magic and I suddenly brightened up and started coming tops in my class. When my father noticed the change in my performance, he started encouraging me and we later became the best of friends.

When I Finished Primary School, he gave me the single task of finishing a particular Mathematics text book called 'Larcomb' so before I entered secondary school, I had already finished the Mathematics text book for Secondary school. I gained admission into the University of Jos to study pharmacy. We were 127, students that were admitted for the course in 1996 but  at the end only 17 of us Graduated ini1996. I was on top of the class with B. Pharm. Degree. I did my industrial training at University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital and my youth service was in NNPC,Maiduguri.

While in the University, that spirit of being in dependent kept cropping up in me, Each time I was travelling to the East, I would buy items that were not common tbere to sell and make money (i.e profit) and vice versa. This business continued so much such that by 1996 while I was doing my internship, I already had some reasonable amount of saving . I also extended this business acumen to the buying and supplying of drugs to pharmaceutical companies. I worked daily from 8 AM to 9 PM and that independent spirit, helped me to the point that I never looked for a Job after my internship.

After my youth service, I joined Mirapharmer as a Pharmacist and also went over to Cordilar Phamacitical  as their sales representative. While I was working with them, I was saving my salary and also doing some other business. In 2003, I opened my own Pharmacy CNR.

In 2005, I opened my own Bakery where we rolled out "Tantabite Bread".
