UIU LAGOS 60th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: FOCUS ON THE GUEST OF HONOUR






When the names of those who have contributed immensely to the service of their fatherland are being complied, there is no doubt that  Comdr. High Chief, Sir, Macdonald Okezie Ubah, (Rtd)  the Special Adviser to Governor Alex Chioma Otti, on Security Matters, will have a pride of place. His outstanding contributions to the service of his community Umuogo, in particular and Ubakala in general have attracted several awards and commendations to him.




He is an astute business man, politician, ex naval officer and philantropist of great repute. He is the Chief Executive officer of Jesse Marine Ltd, a marine consultant firm with it's operating base in Port Harcourt and having links across Nigeria, which today is building for him a household name in the industry, thus making him a choice contact in the area. He also owns Jesse Mining and integrated services Ltd and other business concerns.





He holds the title Ochiagha 1 of Umuogo Ubakala, Ndidi bu nka 1 of Rumuobiokani kingdom and several numbers of awards from various organizations in and outside Ubakala.


He is from Umuamata village in Umuogo autonomous community. He attended Nakasara Primary School Kampala, Uganda, Crusaders High School, Umuahia, University of Calabar and Nigerian Naval College Onura.

He holds a Master' s degree in Transport Management (MTM) and  PGDl in Logistics from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho, Diploma in Advanced Security and Safety Management from University of Lagos and he as well passed the Staff College Jaji, kaduna.


He started his career in the Nigerian Navy as sub lieutenant and moved up the ladder to the rank of a Commander. He had a meritorious career which saw him go to maintain peace in foreign countries as part of the Ecomong Peace Keeping Forces. He received the following medals, while serving his fatherland. 

a)  The Golden Jubilee (Nigeria Navy) Medal,

 c)  Meritorious Service Star (MES) Medal,

 d)  Defense of Bakassi Peninsular Medal,

 e)  Fellow Service Star (FSS) and Ecomong Medal.



His quest or desire to pursue his career in business development led to his retiring voluntary from Nigerian Navy and set up his own business which today is one of the most successful in his chosen industry.



This intellect belongs to so many professional bodies like:- 
 
a)  Fellow Chartered institute of shipping, 

b)  member America Institute for Industrial Security, 

c)  Military Professional  Resource Person     Initiative Corps 

d)  Above Water Warfare Specialist Corps.

He became a living legend when he had  his thanksgiving service after retiring from Nigeria Navy. Every Who is who in Ubakala and beyond was on ground to grace the occasion. The hall was filled to capacity and he saw to it that each and every guest was adequately catered for.  You can hadly  find a single individual pulling such kind of crowd.





He joined active politics in 2015 when he contested for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency under the APGA platform. He has been a political ally of Gov. Otti, since 2015 when he joined APGA. Together they moved to APC and Labour party..
 He was subsequently appointed SA to the governor on Security Matters  by His Excellency Dr. Alex Ott





To many, he is a role model. Over the years, he has affected Ubakala Nation in various ways including the upgrade of Umuogo roads, building of a church for the community and continous provision of succor to the widows and the less privileged in Ubakala.


His continuous philanthropic and community development activities in Ubakala, have earned him several awards of excellence from notable organizations across the country.



He is a devoted Christian with the fear of God in all his dealings with people. He is an Anglican  Church faithful. He is a KSM



He is happily married and they are blessed with children.
