POMP AND PEGEANTRY AS REV ( MRS) O. O DANSO, GM N.M.D.C, SHOMOLU BOWS OUT



When we talk about the biggest farewell parties so far in NIPOST, one cannot leave out the Farewell Party of the legendry Rev (Mrs) O.O Danso, who retired  from public service on 22nd August, 2021 on attainment of 60 years of age.


The event took place at the National Mail Distribution Center, Shomolu on Friday, 20th August, 2021 and was withnessed by major big guns in Nigerian Postal Service from Abuja, Benin, Ibadan, and  Lagos.
It was a really big and massive send off party.

Present at the epoch making event were the former Postmaster General, Engr. Olukolu Taiwo, the present Postmaster General, ably represented by Mr K.U Matankari, the COO, ably respresented by Mr. S. Oguche, the Director Nigerian postal Institute, Dr Julius Anjorin, GM EMS, Mr Biodun Ogudele, GM IMPC Air, Mrs J Olayinka,  GM Bulk Post, Mr. O.P Johnson, GM CBU, Mrs. Taye Ajayi, GM Logistics, Mr kunle Oladapo, Zonal Manager Ibadan zone, Mrs Fumilayo Ogunlana, Zonal Manager Lagos zone, Mrs Toyin Egbesola, DZM (HRM) Mrs Joy Mibwala and all the DZMs and DMs in Lagos zone

Also present were NIPOST SSA President,  Mr Inusa Shuabu Msheliza, his Deputy, Mallam Aminu Suleman and other SSA executive members




All the Heads of Admin. in Lagos were also on hand to  give Mrs Danso a befitting farewell.  They include Mrs Joy Mibwala,  Mrs Obosa, Mrs Dawodu, Mrs Jisola Omishakin, Minerva Adenuga, Ganiat Omowun, Madariola Nimota, Christy and others


Equally, all Management  and staff of NMDC, Shomolu honoured the ceremony with their esteemed presence. Led by Deputy Director (I&s) Mrs  Akintayo, the incoming GM, Mr Musa Ayuba, AGM (HRM) Mr. Asibe J. E, AGM(F&I) Mrs Alao ,AGM (Audit).Mr.Marufu and others.






It was not just all NIPOST affairs as Mrs. Danso's husband, son and aged mother as well as friends and well wishers stormed the venue to celeberate one of their own.

It was  really a remarkable day for Mrs Danso and most significantly those who have longed to meet with the beautiful, charming, immaculate Administrator per excellence, whom God has favoured in all ramifications

The peak of the moment was when she was called upon to cut the Retirement Cake. She was assisted by her son to perform the task. Afterwards, she took pictures with family members and top Management Staff.



Her staff at her former district, Festac District  added colour to  the already colourful occasion, when they lined up by the vehicle  pulling her out, singing and praising God for His goodness upon her life to the admiration of passersby, who prayed for them in Yoruba, saying " Ti enyi no ma ribe."



Rev (Mrs) deserved all accolades given to her  because she has left foot print on the sand of time in the Nigerian Postal  Service.  She stood tall in all matters she handled and remain unblemished.

It was indeed a day of joy for her. She was highly impressed by the way things turned out and how those that were invited turned out. She thanked God for making the occasion successful.

On behalf of NMDC Management and staff, I say big congratulations to Mrs Danso for finishing the race in good health. As she begins the next journey of life, I pray that the Almighty God grant her good health, long life and prosperity. Life has two sides, the good and the bad. May she always taste the good side of life.

REV (MRS) DANSO: 63 YEARS OF GOD's GOODNESS .

  Rev. ( Mrs) Olayinka Olusola Danso,  retired General Manager, National Mail Distribution Center, Shomolu is 63 years today. In a country where the average life expectancy is 54 and at a time longevity takes the grace of God, attaining such milestone in good health and sound mind is no mean feat and calls for thanksgiving and Celebration.
