WHY HRH EZE EBERE UBANI IS THE MOST POPULAR TRADITIONAL RULER IN UBAKALA

 


In Ubakala now, one man who is powerfully making waves is the former President of Igbo speaking Community in Lagos and the current Akuma Ukwu 111 of Mgbarakuma, HRH Eze Ebere Ubani  popularly known as Eze Mpiampia

He has performed creditedly well more than his predecessors



Since his installation as Akuma Ukwu 111 of Mgbarakuma, he has endeared himself to the hearts of Mgbarakuma people and indeed Ubakala with his style of leadership.

He has succeded to some extent in instilling discipline on the  recalcitrant Mgbarakuma youths, who used to abuse and fight their parents at will,  and the reckless bike riders who were causing nuisance  at Ubakala junction by the expressway. 

According to our source anyone whose case is brought to him and found guilty would be  given strokes of the cane depending on  the seriousness of the offence.

To checkmate  the activities  of the hoodlums, drug peddlers,  and other criminal elements in the Community, he carries out constant patrol of the suspected spots in the community and usually at night. Those caught with minor offences are also given strokes of the came, while those  with major offences are handed over to the police for prosecution

It is reported that during one of his regular patrols, he unmasked  a notorious criminal cum evil man named Akwamiko, who used his mechanic shop along Mgbarakuma/Abam road as a cover up for his criminal activities. The young man, who wanted to charm HRH through hand sake was beaten to stupor when his evil intension  was exposed. His charms, including his evil pots were destroyed. Padlocks he used in caging people were also destroyed.

He was forcefully sent out from the community to his native land Isi alangwa

Even the dustbin scavengers known to be comitting various crimes under the guise of picking scraps of iron and allumillium were not spared as they have also been sent packing from Mgbarakuma.


Due to his zero tolerance to crime, the U.I.U (f) made him the Chairman of Ubakala security committee and he has so far done marvellously well in crime prevention and control.

He has extended his patrols  to other Communities in Ubakala to the admiration and applause of the people
