FOUR YEARS AGO: EARTH LOST HEAVEN GAINED. ( 27th December 2020)
A
In the words of Thomas Babinghton Macaulay ''There are not ten people in the world whose deaths would spoil my dinner, but there are one or two whose deaths would break my heart."
Many hearts were broken on 27th December, 2020, when the news of the death of Deaconess Josephine Chidinma Anyanwu, the late President General, Umuada Ubakala (Women in Charity) and Managing Director/ CEO PassageGold group of companies, filtered in.
It was a shocking news, so hard to believe. How wicked could death be? So wicked it could not spare AdaUkwu Ubakala.
She was too dear to many, she was a becon of hope, a precious Gem and huge asset not only to her family but to Ubakala in general. A woman of distinction and character, a rare bred, a role model, an astute bussiness woman and a philanthropist worthy of emulation.
If wishers were horses, if the Creator of man had taken us mortal into confidence when calling her home on that faithful December, 27, our opinion would have been that Deaconess Josephine was still needed in the service of her fatherland.
As Henry Wardswath Long fellow aptly put it "I am always aggrieved when a man of talents dies. The world needs such a man more than heaven does
God took her home when her services were still much needed here. Earth lost heaven gained. She was indeed a leader with a difference, a leader with large heart, a formidable pillar of support to the orphans, widows and the less privileged in the society. She lived a life that was devoted to their upliftment
Umuada Ubakala, (Women in Charity) the NGO she was a co founder, was formed with a mission to affect lives and contribute to a better society.
Among their activities include, but not restricted to welfarism in the form of funding the academic and emotional development of orphans in Nigeria.
It also provides care and support for widows and people living with terminal diseases in the rural areas. It equally leads advocacy campaign for their total support and general empowerment.
As the President General of the NGO for 26 uninterrupted years, she was passionately commited to its growth and advancement From six members in 1987, the NGO presently has a membership of over 350 members across 36 states of Nigeria
Her selfless service to humanity, loyalty and love for God caught the attention of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) and she was honoured with the Ambassador of Peace award at Peace Embassy, Abuja on 21st September, 2017
She was a faithful wife in all areas of faithfulness, a responsible mother, a trusted guardian, a devout christian whose actions were guided by the fear of God and a dedicated member of Winners Chapel, where she served as Deaconess
She was born to achieve greatness. She achieved all that and bade the world goodbye on 27th December, 2020..
Her name shall never be forgotten in Ubakala and in the family of every orphans and the less privileged in the society because he played a significant part in puting smiles in their faces
Her legacies of excellent leadership, love kindness and charity will remain indelible in their hearts. They love her, but God loves her more
