LAGURU COMMUNITY PLANS BIG FOR THE CELEBRATION OF ENYI II CORONATION
Ndi Laguru Autonomous Community are at the moment in the thick of preparation for the celebration of the ENYI's 11 coronation.
The event which will hold on 29th December, 2021 at Ahiamore Market is expected to attract large number of Laguru Indigines home and abroad as well as their friends and well wishers.
It promises to be another grand occasion for the iconic monarch with several university degrees in his kity.
HRH Eze (Dr) Cyril Amaechi Ucheaga, B.sc (Econs) M.sc (Econs) M.P.A (Mgt) M.sc (criminology) M.B.A (Management Tech.), PHD (Econs) PHD (career psychology) PGDE, MICAS , the Enyi II of Laguru Autonomous Comunity was given the staff of office and certificate of recognition by the executive governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu on 17th June, 2021 and was coronated as Enyi II of Laguru on 20th July, 2021, but the celebration was deferred.
Information has it that every one is gearing up for what sure to be a superlative occasion
Major attraction of the event will be the conferment of chieftaincy title on eminent dignitries for their contributions to the growth and development of the community.
LAGURU PEOPLE
Laguru people are those whose roots can be traced to Laguru Autonomous Community in Umuahia L G A. These people are an Igbo speaking people who trace their origin to man named Aguru.
It is bounded by ipupe Umuosu Ngbaraku a Umuogo Amibo and Ngwas communities and had an estimated population of 60,000 people which includeoval resident in it's 10 villages and citizens in Dispora
The communities is made of three kindred. The kindreds and the villages in Laguru in order of seniority are as follows
