LAGURU CELEBRATES: OYIMO's WRONG MOVE.

 



As Ndi Laguru celebrate the the Enyi's 11 coronation today, Ubscope gathered that some people in Oyimo have vowed not to have anything to do with the celebration simple because their person/ village lost out in the epic battle for the stool.

Well in the opinion of Ubscope News this is a wrong move that may backfire in the future.

When the then USSR invaded Afghanistan in 1979, U.S under Jimmy Carter called for the boycott of 1980 Moscow Olympics. More than 60 Nations followed U. S .A to boycott the Olympics. US was happy that they  scored a major political point against USSR

The next Olympics was in Los Angeles in USA, the USSR in retaliation of the US led boycott of the Moscow games four years earlier, boycotted the Los Angeles games with her Eastern bloc Nations

The lesson to learn from above is when we want to take certain action we should think of the consequence in the future. That Azuemume lost the contest to Amato Zone does mean that Azuemume will never produce a traditional ruler of Laguru again.

After HRH Eze Ucheaga, someone from Oyimo or Azuemume zone can  be his successor and may need the support of other zones. How will the person or the village feel if other villages decide to pay him and his village back in their own coin by turning their  back on them?

  Rev. ( Mrs) Olayinka Olusola Danso,  retired General Manager, National Mail Distribution Center, Shomolu is 63 years today. In a country where the average life expectancy is 54 and at a time longevity takes the grace of God, attaining such milestone in good health and sound mind is no mean feat and calls for thanksgiving and Celebration.
