WHY CONSTITUENTS OF UMUAHIA SOUTH CAN NOT TURN THEIR BACK ON BARRISTER JERRY UZOSIKE



Barrister Jerry Uzosike is a household name in Umuahia and indeed Abia State and for  good things.  He is a politician and the Honourable Member representing Umuahia South state Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly,

His open handedness and concern for the welfare of the members of his constituency as well as his roles in the oversight functions as the representative of his people have not gone unnoticed

On different occasions, he has been commended for his outstanding constituency engagement, activities and his numerous empowerment programs targeted at widows, the youths and deserving indigent students through award of scholarships.

This is what the Speaker of Abia State House Assembly Hon. Enyinnaya Chinedum Orji said of him during the commissioning of a 3 bedroom bungalow built by Hon. Jerry Uzosike for a widow in Umuajata, Olokoro. "Hon. Jerry Uzosike has taken legislative representation to another higher dimension by not only making laws but also attracting and executing laudable projects for the huge benefit of his constituents"

The Speaker lauded him, for always identifying with the people through quality representation.

In an interview with the National Ambassador, the Permanent Secretaty, Ministry of Trade and Investment, Sir Micheal Egwu said "Hon. Jerry Uzosike has beaten the records of his predecessors... He  has succeeded in setting a high standard, such that anybody coming into that position must be ready to surpass his achievements"

Sir Egwu revealed that the Umuahia South state Constituency  law maker's vision is to serve his people and that he has successfully done for the last two years.

During the presentation of Scorecard and empowerment by Hon Jerry Uzosike  to members of his constituency held at Amizi Olokoro, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt Hon Udo Oko-Chukwu commended him for living up to the expectations of his constituents through purposeful representations in areas of law making and provision of amenities.

The Deputy Governor noted that Hon. Uzosike has sponsored motions and laws that have made positive impact on his people

Speaking during a solidarity visit on Hon. Uzosike at his Umuwanwa country home, the converner of Olokoro youth political Front,  Obi Pious said that Hon Uzosike has shown capacity and proved to be effective in his quality representation of his constituents pointing that they were overwhelmed by his achievements and do not have any other alternative than to adopt him for a second term to continue to represent the people 

The voice of the people they say is the voice of God. They have said it all

Indeed Hon. Jerry Uzosike has effectively represented the people of Umuahia South Constituency that every one is proud to be associated with him. He has equally shown unwavering commitment to their welfare and as well as attracted and executed projects that have direct impact on the constituents of Umuahia south 

Ask the grassroots in Umuahia south and they will attest to the fact that he has done a lot in areas such as welfare programs, community support,  infrastructural and human and capital development. 

He is loved and adored by so many people in his constituency as a result of his concern about their welfare and well being. He is a man of impeccable character, an asset, a comfort and everything to those who come his way. 

His kindness to the indigent widows is limitless. His generosity to the needy and less privileged knows no bounds. He has been able to bring succuor to many youth whom he has empowered in various fields. The constituency has his footprints because he contributes generously to matters affecting them.

In appreciation to these tremedious achievements since assumption of office, he has received showers of chieftaincy tittles/honours from the traditional rulers drawn from the three clans that make up the constituency

Equally, there has been humongous support by leaders and constituents of Umuahia South for the lawmaker to seek renewal of mandate come 2023

This explains why many people are visibly  displeased with the former aide to Umuahia South legislative council,  Mr. Kessy Onuoha, who has been campaigning against the renewal of  Hon. Jerry Uzosike's mandate with his 'Deede Rituo For Olokoro To Take  Their Turn''  slogan

It is  pertinent to state here that Umuahia South people can not afford to turn their back on him after all these gestures. One good turn they say deserves another. What Hon. Jerry deserves is adulation and show of gratitude and not acerbic and dismissive comments on his second term ambition. He has been tried and tested and found to be reliable.

Hon. Uzosike  deserves to be appreciated and encouraged so that the culture of hard work and excellence could be cultivated and made to thrive.

Having been able to  deliver on his campaign promises, it can be as well be in the overall interest of the people of Umuahia South to support him if he decides to seek for another mandate in 2023.
