PHARM. (CHIEF) CHIDI OKORIE HONOURED AGAIN




Talk about  one past  President General of Ubakala improvement Union (F) that has been  honoured with many awards, laurels and recognisions since he left office, the name of Pharm. Chidi Okorie, will readily come to mind.

 
The Umuogo born pharmacist was elected President General of the union in August 2007 at the age of 37, making him the youngest president general ever in Ubakala. His election was not by manipulation of any kind rather due process was followed and he emerged the winner due to his brilliance and astute leadership qualitiess

And for four years, despite all efforts  made to discredit and portray him in a bad light, he distinguished himself very  well by piloting the affairs of the union to a level that every Dick and Harry was proud to be associated with. 

Since the end of his tenure in December 2012, he has been enjoying torrents of awards and recognisions. The adulations just keep coming from different associations, groups, entities as well as communities in Ubakala and beyond. 




The most recent of the awards is the prestigious service award  presented to him by the Elder Friday Ogbuehi led Ubakala improvement  Union ( F) during this year's Ubakala Day celebration held on Tuesday 26th December, 2023.
He was presented with the award alongside  other distinguished personalities from different parts of Ubakala and who have one way or the other contributed to the growth and development of the clan. 

Speaking after receiving the award, Pharm. Chidi Okorie, who was represented by his senior brother, Arc. Amechi Okorie expressed his gratitude to the  union for  honouring with the award. While giving all glory to the Almighty God for the award, he extended his appreciation to  the executive committee during his tenure, for standing by him. . 


Pharm. Chidi Okorie was also honoured with an award of  execellence  by the  Ubakala improvement Union, Abuja Conference, on 18th November, 2023. This came some months after he was conferred with a chieftaincy title "Ochinanwata 1"  by HRH Eze (Dr) I. S Ibezim, the Evule Ukwu 11 of Umuosu in recognition of his leadeship role in the society. 

Other awards he has been bestowed with since he left office as the President General, Ubakala Clan Union (f) are but not limited to (1) Execellence in Leadership Award by Umuahia Development Union, Abuja, for his immensurable contributions which have affected positively the growth and development of Ubakala clan and by extension Umuahia. 
(2) Examplary Leadership  Award by Ubakalascopenews for providing examplary leadership and a clear direction for the  renaissance of Ndi Ubakala. 



These recognitions/accolades stand as  testament to his leadership qualities and service to humanity


As the President General of Ubakala Clan Union, he brought on board long list of progressive and positive impactful innovations.

It was during his tenure as PG that Ubakala witnessed peace, unity, understanding, cooperation and pursult of each other's brother keeper.

He saw to the establishment and sustenance of Ubakala Council of Traditional Rulers, Ubakala Council of  Traditional Prime Ministers, Ubakala Council of titled Chiefs and Ubakala Youth League.

It was during his time that the old Ubakala hall was demolished, given way for the building of an ultra modern hall. He built it to the lintel level before the powers that-be ganged up to fustrate the project  

His astuteness in the  administration of Ubakala Clan Union transformed the union to an enviable height to the extent that it became the 'bride' that everybody wanted to marry in 2012.

GLAMOUR AS JOHN AND JULIE NWADIGHOGHA MARK 25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Nwachinemere 1 of Ubakala, High Chief, Sir (Dr) John Nwadighogha KSM and his beautiful wife, Lady Julie Nwadighogha are one great couple who are consistent in showing appreciation to God for His favour upon them. They do this at every given opportunity. On 29th December, 2024, they repeated this when they rolled out the drums to appreciate God's for His goodness, faithfulness and mercy upon their marital life in the last 25 years.   Rev. ( Mrs) Olayinka Olusola Danso,  retired General Manager, National Mail Distribution Center, Shomolu is 63 years today. In a country where the average life expectancy is 54 and at a time longevity takes the grace of God, attaining such milestone in good health and sound mind is no mean feat and calls for thanksgiving and Celebration.
