PLEA FOR STAY OF EXECUTION: HRH EZE UCHEAGA ACCUSES UMUAHIA HIGH COURT JUDGE OF BIAS

The embattled traditional ruler of Laguru Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Professor C. A Ucheaga has disclosed that he knew from the onset  that Justice Chido Nnamani of Umuahia High Court would not grant his request to stay the execution of the Court's judgement which removed him as the traditional ruler of Laguru Autonomous community,

HRH stated that he lost confidence in the judge's neutrality following the manner  he handled the original trial of the case,

Despite knowing that the presiding judge was biassed in the treatment of the case, HRH Eze Ucheaga explained that he had approached the court for the stay of execution of the judgement,  because the rule states that Application for a Stay of Execution of the judgement must be made first from the court which heard the original trial of the case.

As for his opponents, who are rejoicing over the recent ruling, he said they should not rejoice yet, adding that he has approached the Appeal Court for the stay of execution and that he would fight like a wounded lion to ensure that what had been given to him would not be taken away from him easily.   According to him "the rule also states that if the Application for a Stay of Execution is refused by the court of first instant, it can be made to the Court of Appeal within a reasonable time. This I have done and hope to get justice from the unbiased Appeal Court Judges.

" Any one thinking that I will fold my hands and watch them rubbish me at the Appeal Court as they did at  Umuahia High Court, must be dreaming.

I will fight like a wounded lion this time to  ensure that what has been given to me will not be taken away from me.
