CONGRATULATIONS TO DAVIDSON CHIMA , THE POSTMASTER OBUNULOR POST OFFICE


Join me to thank God and congratulate my boy in whom i am well pleased, as he  bagged a B.Sc degree in Marketing from Chukwu Emeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University, Igbarim in Anambra State recently. 

It may interest you to. know that   Davidson Chima's story is a testament of resilience, ambition and seizing opportunities. Thirteen years ago  he did not have an ordinary S.75 certificate talkless of West African School Certificate. He could not finish his secondary school education due to parental marital crisis. He was, thus doing all kinds of jobs to keep body and soul  together. At Asaba, he was a Sim Card Vendor infront of Madam Green Restaurant. 

In all  these, what he has going well for him is that he is an all round likeable person. It was this, that attracted him to the then newly posted S. M. A to Delta Territory, who advised him to  acquire a  G. C. E certificate. for a brighter future


Heeding the advice of the SMA, he enrolled in an extra mural class, from where he sat and passed his GCE papers in flying colours.

With this, he gained employment into the Nigerian Postal Service, Delta Territory as a Postal Officer 1V, through the assistance of the SMA and the then Area Postal Manager, Mrs A. O Adeniyi

Since his employment in 2012, till date, Chima has not  disappointed those who facilliated his employment into the service of NIPOST. He is sincere, courteous, respectful and hard working. He performs his duties with self confidence and job pride and he is always organised, above all he is loved by all and sundry.

His quest for improvement  in his intellectual sagacity, saw him enrolling at Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University in 2019, from where he bagged a B.SC in Marketing, second class upper division five years after





Kudos to Chima, now a member of the graduate elite class in NIPOST, with prospects of  risen up to grade level 17.  One may ask why all the noise, after all, he is not the first, second, third or even fourth to obtain university degree while in service. Well, the big deal here is doing the right thing at the right time. When I was posted back to Lagos Zone in 2018, I observed many staff were stagnanted on GL 07 for several years due to their failure to acquire additional qualifications.  And those that managed to move beyond level 07, acquired the additional qualifications very late as they retired either on Gl ,08 or 09 after thirty five years in service. 

I am celebrating Chima because he is not like them. For doing the right thing at the right time, he is not going to be stagnanted on GL 07.  He will participate in this  year promotion interview that will take him to GL 08. This is the area i am particularly proud of Delta territory, where I served as SMA for 9 years.Virtually all those that were  employed between 2000 and during the period of Mrs Adeniyi as APM ensured they acquire additional qualifications before the year for their promotion to GL 08. Even the cleaners like Mrs Angela Okpeifo, Mrs Mary Odum, Mrs Ngozi Okafor that entered the service with primary six cerficate, obtained  NABTEB Cetificate and were converted to  Postal Offices. Mrs Ojogu, the  typist attached  to the Accounts unit, who was on grade level 04 for 33 years woke up from her slumber to acquire the necessary papers that moved her to GL 08  before her retirement. I was filled with joy the day she came to my office with her NABTEB result and I  personally carried the result  to Abuja to ensure that her upgrading was effected despite Headquarters' opposition to NABTEB Certificate in Typing and Shorthands. 

 I am celebrating not only  Chima  but also  Owah Oghenemaga, Ukor Friday, Shiedu Nasiru, Oby Adigwe Erutor Nelson,, Emeka Agha, Abraham Egodotaye, Ogbeje Happy  Nora Uchea and others  for  doing the right at the right time.  They were employed as Postal Officers, but today, they are Postal Controllers. I am confident that they will continue to soar in their endeavors, to the glory of God.

GLAMOUR AS JOHN AND JULIE NWADIGHOGHA MARK 25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Nwachinemere 1 of Ubakala, High Chief, Sir (Dr) John Nwadighogha KSM and his beautiful wife, Lady Julie Nwadighogha are one great couple who are consistent in showing appreciation to God for His favour upon them. They do this at every given opportunity. On 29th December, 2024, they repeated this when they rolled out the drums to appreciate God's for His goodness, faithfulness and mercy upon their marital life in the last 25 years. The event which began with Thanksgiving Mass at St Nicholas Catholic Church, Nsukwe / Umuogo was followed with a reception of guests at Dr John Nwadighogha's residence,  Umunibom, Umuogo Ubakala Their friends and loved ones, who have been privileged to observe  their successful marriage story,  described  the attainment  of such milestone as worthy of celebration. REV (MRS) DANSO: 63 YEARS OF GOD's GOODNESS .

  Rev. ( Mrs) Olayinka Olusola Danso,  retired General Manager, National Mail Distribution Center, Shomolu is 63 years today. In a country where the average life expectancy is 54 and at a time longevity takes the grace of God, attaining such milestone in good health and sound mind is no mean feat and calls for thanksgiving and Celebration.
