HRH EZE (DR) S. I IBEZIM TO CELEBRATE 4th CORONATION ANNIVERSARY
The Evule Ukwu Ii of Umuosu Ubakala Autonomous Community, HRH Eze (Dr) Simeon I. Ibezim, has commenced activities aimed at celebrating his four years on the throne.
The biennial celebrations popularly known as Evule Ukwu Day was initiated in 2022 by HRH to thank God for His divine direction and mercy in his life and also appreciate the people of the community, friends and well wishers for their immesurable support.
Recall that HRH Eze (Dr) Ibezim was coronated in a colorful occasion on 28th December, 2020. He was however suspended from office by the governor of Abia State, four months later following disagreement between him and some powerful individuals in the community. The suspension lasted till April 2022.
In a meeting held shortly after the suspension was lifted, it was agreed that Evule Ukwu Day (conceived by HRH) should be celebrated in every two years.
This year edition has been scheduled to hold on 28th December, 2024 at Umuosu Community Primary School Field and is expected to attract large number of dignatries from all walks of life.
Major attractions of the day include: cultural dance, carnival procession and conferment of chieftaincy titles on some notable personalities in recognition and appreciation of their support to the development of the community
