MAMA GENERAL OF NIPOST, MRS AKINTÀYO CLOCKS 60 YEARS, BOW'S OUT OF SERVICE.






Friends and well-wishers, on 28th August 2024, organised a birthday cum pendown celebration for the retired Head of Investigation and Security Branch, Lagos Headquarters Annex, Mrs Folusho Afolaogun Akintayo, who retired from service, having reached the compulsory retirement age of 60 years and after 34 years and 10 months of service




The Management of  Investigation and Security Unit had deferred the date for her pendown/birthday celebration from 28th August, 2024, to a date to be announced, but her friends and well wishers reasoned otherwise. They claimed that Mrs Akintayo, aka Mama General, aka iya Amuludun, is not one who should be denied the  celebration of two important milestones with her people on her last day in office.  Consequently they rallied round and organised a birthday celebration in her honour on 28th August, 2024 at the Marina office. impromptu as the event was, it was well attended and adjudged successs

 


The highly celebral and cosmopolitan celebrant is without doubt an embodiment of numerious virtues which include honesty, loyalty, moral courage, compassion, fairness, intellectuai excellentce, love , kindness, humility and many more. 

She is a woman with a large heart, very accommodating, caring, generous , accessible and kind  to both junior and senior staff. This explains why she is such a popular woman, loved and adored by many. Indeed many staff in NIPOST especially those in Lagos axis, where she spent the greater number of her 34 years in service, will miss her caring heart, laughter, jokes, smiles, warmt , friendly dispositions and bubbling, lively personality 




She is a vibrant, energetic  and bubbling boss, who believes in working very hard and having fun when necessary. She is one person whose presence in any event brings liveliness. She makes a world of difference when ever she steps into an arena. irrespective of the mood of the people she awakens the happiness that is embedded in them by nature. She perfectly fits the maxim that states when the person being awaited in an occasion arrives, the occasion turns around. No wonder she is fondly called Mama General. 


Known for her dedication and commitment to duty, she worked for NIPOST for 34 years and ten months and throughout those years, she gave her best to the organization. As an investigation officer, she stood tall in all cases he handled and remain unblemished. 

Born on 28 August,1964, into the family of Chief and  Mrs Andrew Afolaogun from Kwara State. 


She attended the following schools: 
a) St Barnabas School,  sabo Oke, Ilorin, 
b) Bishop Smith Memorial College, Ilorin. 
c) Alhmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she obtained her BSc (hons) Degree in 1987

She attained a towering beight and sterling records in the  Nigerian Postal Service during her over three dacades illustrious career.




She joined the service of  Nigeria Postal Service as an Investigation Officer in November 1987. She rose to become a Deputy Director (I&S) in 2018. Her enviable antecedents  and mastery of the job saw her occupied key positions in the Department in course of her career in the Nigerian Postal Service, among which are:  
a) Assistant General Manager  (I &S) EMS/Parcel Post Ikeja,  
b) Deputy General Manager (I&S) NMDC Shomolu.  
c) Head of Investigation and Security Branch, Lagos Headquarters Annex, a position he held untill her retirement in August 2024



Mrs Folusho Afolaogun Akintayo, is a Christian, married and with lovely children who are thriving in their choseen career.



While thanking God for His Grace upon Mrs Akintayo's life and  career generally, we at UbscopeNews congratulate her on her joining the pantheon of Diamond  jubilee celebrants and on her finishing the race in good health and sound mind .We wish her the best in her future endeavors

  Rev. ( Mrs) Olayinka Olusola Danso,  retired General Manager, National Mail Distribution Center, Shomolu is 63 years today.
