UIU (F) ELECTIONS: ELDER GODWIN MBONU EMERGES ALAOCHA's CANDIDATE

Elder Godwin Mbonu has emerged as the Alaocha Ubakala's candidate for the fortcoming U.I.U (F) President General election.

Elder Mbonu emerged as Alaocha's consensus candidate  in  a shadow election organished by Alaocha Ubakala Development Union (F) to determine who of the two candidates  (Elder Godwin Mbonu  from Abam and Stanley Uche from Mgbarakuma) will be presented for the position of Presidentl General on August in the UIU (F) elections.

It is important to state that Alaocha had zero the search for the candidate  to Mgbarakuma  and Abam communities ! the two communities in Alaocha that have not produced  President General of UIUF in the past.) Two candidates (Stanley Uche from Mgbarakuma and Elder Godwin Mbonu from Abam ) signified their interest for the position

After the two candidates had presented their manifestos and voting about to commence, , Mgbarakuma's delegates staged a walk out  over the refusal of other members  to give Mgbarakuma's candidate ( Stanley Uche) an automatic ticket. They had argued that the community being the most senior  in the zone, should be allowed to go first before Abam.
The Presidents General of the remaining five communities,  Laguru, Umuosu, Avodim, Ipupe and Abam, as well as President General AUDU (F) Hon. Omerenma Ogbonna had continued with the voting process. At the end, the two candidates had 3 votes each. However, the ticket was given to Elder Godwin Mbano of Abam because of Mgbarakuma's refusal to allow their candidate stand for the election after he has agreed to abide by the rules and presented his manifesto to the house

This did not, however, sit well with Mgbarakuma, which described it as a null and illegal action.

Reacting, the Editor of UbscopeNews said "Mgbarakuma caused everything that came their way and they should not blame anybody or lodge protest because they don't have any reasonable ground to stand on. if they were not  headstrong and had  allowed  their candidate to stand for the election, he would have emerged victorious. They did not vote in the election and it ended  3-3, if they had voted, their  vote would have made the result to be 4--3 in favour of their candidate. So why blaming AUDU for the thing they did? "

He equally blamed Stanley for listening to  and walking out with his people after he has  presented his manifesto to the house . "Stanley action  exposed his weakness. It showed that he would be a president general that will  listen and take sides with his community in an event of conflict  between  his community and the rest of  Ubakala".

On the result, he said "the final result should have been 3-2 in favour of Elder Mbonu and not 3-3. The PG  Alaocha Ubakala  Developmen Union(F) whose vote made it 3-3  should  not have voted in the first place. The rule says only the Presidents General of the comunities wil vote and in the event of a tie, AUDU (F) PG, Hon Omerenma will come in to cast his vote to break the deadlock. After Mgbarakuma left, five comunities were left to vote and result  was 3-2. No tie.  No deadlock! It was even Omerenma's vote that caused the deadlock."
