  The amiable President of Onye Echefule Alaya Umuosu, Lagos and the vice President of Alaocha Ubakala Development Union, Lagos, Chief Chimaobi Ekwueme, the Akubuntuntu 1 of Umuosu was conspicuously absent at the Alaocha meeting held on Sunday 8th August, 2021. The reason for his absence was the accident he had that left his two feet swollen. Chief Akunbuntuntu was reported to be on a bike popularly known as  Okada when a vehicle hit them. The Umuosu born chief, who despite the accident celebrated his new yam festival in a grand style at Ilasa, said he would have travelled to Ubakala to celebrate the new yam feast but for the accident. Those who were at Araromi street, Ilasa venue of the event  said guests were to yam pepper soup delicacy and drinks We at Ubscope News commiserate with Chief Ekwueme and wish him quick recovery

 Once upon a time, Laguru Welfare Association,  Lagos used to be an object of ridicule during  Alaocha Ubakala Development Union and Ubakala improvement Union's meetings due to the poor attendance of her members and failure to fulfill their financial obligations   Only Mr Godwin Onyeonoro aka Buchi was regular in attendance, Mr Adolphus Iroabuchi, the President of Umuahia Youth in Lagos and Mr  Bassi,  Provost, Alaocha Ubakala Development Union would only  be there at one point or the other. others were not coming. He started fresh membership drive for the Association. He volunteered his place at Canal Estate Okota, as their new meeting venue and used his money to host the Association.   Our attention has been drawn to Mr Godson Deberge's reaction to our story. We were not surprised by his reaction. The Cabal in Ubakala are highly placed political officers.They are ready to go to any lenght to make sure that any leader they believe is a threat  or refuse to cooperate with them, is removed from office, regardless the consequences. The President General of Ubakala Clan Union in 2008, Pharm Chidi Okorie had a hard time dealing with them. Because he refused to dance to their tune.That indeed was the beginning of trouble for him .   The Nigerian Pension Commision has commenced a pilot scheme of it's online pre retirement verification and enrolment exercise for retirees in goverment ministries, department and agencies (MDA) in the country. According to a  press release by the commision, the enrolment will take off between 2nd to 20th August, 2021 with selected MDAs in the six geopolitical zones and the Federal capital to test run the application with real time data "The application will Go Live after the conclusion of the pilot run on a date to be announced by PENCOM in due course. The Commision called on propective retirees to undergo data recapturing exercise with their respective Pension Fund Administration (PFAs) as it is a pre requisite for the online enrolment. This entails updating and providing their National Identication Number (NIN)
