HOW THE CABAL WIELD THE BIG STICK TO PUNISH STUBBORN LEADERS IN UBAKALA.
The Cabal in Ubakala are highly placed political officers. They are ready to go to any lenght to make sure that any leader they believe is a threat or refuse to cooperate with them, is removed from office, regardless the consequences.
The President General of Ubakala Clan Union in 2008, Pharm Chidi Okorie had a hard time dealing with them. Because he refused to dance to their tune. That indeed was the beginning of trouble for him . They moved against him and made sure he did not succed. He was so frustrated, that he decided not to go for second term.
On 28th December, 2012, when the Union held her election at the multi purpose Hall, Umuahia South LG, Apumiri, what was in their mind was how to ensure that their candidate succeeds the out going President General.
they accomplished their aim as Sir Ebere Nwaeze, their candidate was elected President General. Do not ask me if it was election or selection
.
While the voiceless Ubakalas watched helplessly the humiliation and injustice meted out on Pharm. Okorie, Sir Ebere Nwaeze was grinning from ear to ear in the hall, not knowing that the same cane used against Pharm. Okorie would be used against him later.
For seven years he was doing the biddings of the Cabals without any objection. Then one day, he summoned courage and looked straight on their face and and said no. They said "aru" "He has committed sacrilege and must go," even when his tenure had not expired, they said he must vacate his office.
Sir Nwaeze resisted, but they were too strong for him. He was forcefully removed five months before the end of his tenure and replaced with Elder Friday Ogbuehi. He called them "back stabber" and described his removal as the most primitive action in history taken by people assumed to be enlightened. He vowed not to hand over until the expiration of his tenure. This did not move the Cabals. He has been removed and he remains removed
Elder Friday Ogbuehi is a good man, but he was installed by the cabals. The fear is that if he stopped doing their biddings, the same treatment meted out on Pharm. Okorie and Sir Nwaeze might be meted on him.
Dr. Ibezim, the suspended traditional ruler of Umuosu autonomous community never saw it coming. If he had, he would have employed every means at his disposal to avoid the political battle that led to his suspection by the state government

Dr. Ibezim, the suspended traditional ruler of Umuosu autonomous community never saw it coming. If he had, he would have employed every means at his disposal to avoid the political battle that led to his suspection by the state government
He was on the throne for only three months and twenty one days when the Cabals moved against him. They used their closeness to the government to hand him the suspension.and appoint Chief Ekwueme as the regent to oversee the affairs of the community.
What did he do?
But those that know him very well can not stop wondering if it was the same Dr. Ibezim they know. The Ibezim they know has never used force or threat to achieve his mission. The Ibezim they know has never being insensitive to the plight of Umuosu people. He has shown unflinching dedication to the affairs of Umuosu since his retirement home. He met a disunited and divided community but he was able to bring them together under one President General using dialogue and discussions. He resolved the okata dispute. He brought Umuokwuru, Umuamadi and Umuokeleke back to Umuosu community. Several litigations and counter suits pending in courts were withdrawn for amicable out of court settlements. Without his efforts, Chidi Okekwuo would not have been qualified to be PG or the regent, the caretakership role given to him. Beacuse their villages pulled out from Umuosu community, but he was able to bring them back without using threat or intimidation.
Another reason the cabals gave was that he dissolved the duly elected federated union, The question here is, is there any community in Ubakala that her Eze at one point or the other has not dissolved the union or sack the President General? Pharm. Chibuzor Ufomadu, was sacked by HRH Eze Rapheal Mbagwu on 27th August, 2018 on the ground that he had overstayed his tenure. HRH equally ordered for a new election on 28th September, 2018, which saw Barr. Chris Ezem emerged as the PG, Amibo Progressive Union (F) In 2017, HRH late Eze A.C Onyeonoro sacked Barrister Samuel Nwadiogha led executive of Umuogo Progressive Union (F) The Late Eze Chiago Chikezie of Mgbarakuma Community dissolved the executive of Mgbarakuma Development Union (F) in 2016 and appointed a care taker committee to over see the affiars of the Union. Hope Anyawun, the PG, Amuzu Welfare Association was sacked by HRH Eze (Engr.) C.T Iruke. 'In all of these what happened after HRH had dissolved the union or sacked the President General? Nothing. Why is Umuosu's case different? Because HRH stepped on the toes of the CABALS
As we said earlier, we fear for Elder Friday. He is also a good man. He has not been on their side in this case. He has been doing his best to ensure that the suspension placed on the embattled Eze is lifted. HRH Eze Rapheal Mbagwu, the Ubah Iii of Ubakala has also been doing his best.in this regard.
In conclusion, Mr Sulaimon Olanrewaju of the Nigerian Tribune Newspaper in his write up of 27th October, 2005 said ."Men can errect monuments to immortalize the dead after their demise but monument that will last long is the one erected by a man in the mind of people while still alive'"
What monument are our Cabals erecting? What legacies do they want people to remember about them ? It is sixteen years, since Sir Orji Nwaeze died, people still remember and talk of him in a positive light because he errected a memorial monument in the minds of Ubakala people while he was alive. People will forget the superficial things but they will never forget your compassion and kindness.
What did he do?
They accused him of high handedness, ruling his people with threat and intimidation and being insensitive to the plight of his people

What of his coronation, the union refused to bring out money for this purpose. He did not threaten or intimidate them, instead, he brought out his personal money to sponsor the coronation. It is on record that the union is owning him over 450,000 naira.

With what the cabals are doing now, one wonder if people will ever talk good of them or even remember them in a postive light when they are gone?.
I rest my case.
