NSUKWE UNIFICATION: THOSE OPPOSED TO THE PROCESS STAND TO LOSE

Nsukwe Developement Union, Lagos held her  monthly meeting for the month of August  on 1st August, 2021 with members from both Nsukwe isielu and the mainstream attending. It was the first meeting since the historic unification of 4th July, 2021.

However, some of the protagonists who opposed the peace process were conspicuously absent, a pointer that they were yet to shift ground.

According to a source who was at the meeting, this group has no choice but to  be part of the unification, as they have more to gain than to lose.

He opined that their continued opposition to the peace process  would mean that they would be denied all the benefits derived from being a member of Mbaiyi Development Union and Ubakala improvement Union.

Explaining further, he said  "Nsukwe Developement Union is currently   compiling a list of her members in Lagos to be forwarded to Ubakala improvement  Union. When this is done, anyone whose name is not on the list would not be recognised by Mbaiyi and Ubakala."
"Even those that have  gotten titles or positions  such as 'Patron' through Nsukwe, their present stance  can lead to forfeiture of such titles or positions because they were derived through  Nsukwe community they are now opposing." He said

Our source also disclosed that a new meeting venue had been gotten at cele, which he considered a centrally located venue. This according to him would preclude any one trying to use an ideal meeting  venue as an execuse  not to come to the meeting
