GOVERNOR ALEX OTTI, AGUOCHA, ANOSIKE, MACDONALD OTHERS TO GRACE UIU 60 ANNIVERSARY



Arrangements have reached an advanced stage for the Ubakala improvement Union, Lago conference 60th AnniverKsary Celebration. For the chairman and members of the organizing committe the anniversary is expected to  be as memoriable as possible. Indeed the ceremony is been planned to surpass the 50th anniversary ceremony held ten years ago 

The event  scheduled for Saturday 9th  November, 2024 at the Sand Pitch Training Ground National Stadium, Surulere from 12 noon, is expected to attract large turn out of members of Ubakala improvement Union, Lagos conference as well as their friends and well wishers 



It  will  be held under the distinguished chairmanship of Chief  Nath Iheanacho, the CEO of Cennat Industries  and Agunechemba 1 of Ubakala, with the Governor  of  Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex  Chioma Otti as Special Guest of Honour and member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, Abia State Commissioner for Budget planning, Ndidi Anosike, and Special Assistant to  the Governor on Security, Comdr. Macdonald Ubah Rtd, as Guests of Honour. HRH Eze Onyebuchi Marcus Uchendu, the Ibom Ukwu 1 of Amibo autonomous community will be the Royal Father of the Day.


Other prominent citizens of the community like Engr. Nnamdi Ezeigbo, CEO SLOT Systems, Elder Friday Ogbuehi, 
President General of Ubakala improvement Union Federated, Chief ifeayi V. Lekweuwa, President General sirimo Development Association Federated and Chief Oliver Jacob, have equally indicated their willingness to grace the occasion 



Although, it is an anniversary celebration, but the the occasion will  showcase the culture and traditions of Ubakala people. To give it a cultural look, the men will dress in Igbo traditional attires, while their female counter part will be in their meeting uniforms. Local cuisine like odudu and ugba will be served to the  guests. 



There will also be cultural dance by the women of  various communities in Ubakala.
The Amibo cultural group and Odumodu music band will be on ground to entertain attendees.


One major boost for the preparation of the event is the acceptance by the three communities from Nsirimo zone, namely,  Umumba  Umuako, and Ezunerim to fully participate in the Celebration.

The communities which had pulled out from the union in the early 2000s have not only  accepted to  participate in the anniversary celebration  but also to re unite back with the Ubakala Improvement Union, Lagos

  Rev. ( Mrs) Olayinka Olusola Danso,  retired General Manager, National Mail Distribution Center, Shomolu is 63 years today. In a country where the average life expectancy is 54 and at a time longevity takes the grace of God, attaining such milestone in good health and sound mind is no mean feat and calls for thanksgiving and Celebration.
