The news of the death of Sir Micheal Uzoma Irom KSM, the Ezeji and  Agu N'Eche Mba1 of Nsirimo, came to many people that knew him as a big shock. Sir Mike irom died on  Saturday, December,28, 2024  in U. S .A, He had gone there on vacation with his wife. It was during this period that he became sick and died. He was aged 72 years He was a man of many parts, an erudite scholar, a celebrated teacher, a prolific  writer and publisher, a successful business man, an astitue politician, a paramount community leader and social critic He was a graduate  of University of ife B.Sc Mathematic (1981) PGDE Calabar (1986) In the course of his teaching career, which spanned over 20 years, he held various positions in the  institutions he worked. One major highlight of the coronation anniversary of HRH Eze (Prof)  C.A Ucheaga Phd, the Enyi II of Laguru Autonomous Community,  held on 27th December, 2024 was the conferrement of chieftancy titles on deserved persons from within and outside Laguru autonomous community. Among those conferred with chieftaincy titles, was High Chief (Mrs) Fidel Enyioma Francis  (nee Nelson)  an illustrious daughter of Umuosu Ubakala, based in U.S.A with her family. She was honoured with a beffiting chieftancy title of Ugoejiejemba 1 of Laguru in recognition of her benevolence and humanitarian contributions towards Laguru people. She was also presented with the distinguished award of Excellence as Stainless Lady of Laguru by HRH, who equally showered her with praise.   The traditional marriage of Miss Onyeanula Jennifer Chituru and her hearthrob, Mr Chidozie Dozie Emmanuel, tagged 'JEDO 25' was held on 4th January, 2025. The ceremony which took place at late Onyeanula's compound, Umuezeobu, Laguru attracted good number of family members, friends and well wishers, who came out to celebrate the union.  The remains of High Chief Moses Ndukanjo Ekwueme,  the late village head of Umuokwuru village, were on 6th January, 2025, committed to mother earth at his compound, Umuokwuru, Umuosu Ubakala, amidst eulogies and tributes Late Moses Ekwueme bade the world  goodbye at the age of 91 years on 18th October, 2024,  His death was a glorious exit and  a celebration of life that was not just well spent but adjudged successful in every sense of it. Thus Ndi Umuokwuru and his children gave him a befitting burial.  It started on Sunday,  5th January, 2025 at his  compound, Umuokwuru, where a wake keep was held for him. Nwachinemere 1 of Ubakala, High Chief, Sir (Dr) John Nwadighogha KSM and his beautiful wife, Lady Julie Nwadighogha are one great couple who are consistent in showing appreciation to God for His favour upon them.
