NSUKWE UNIFICATION: I HAVE NOT CHANGED MY STAND -- CHINEDU DICK

One of the protagonists that boycotted the initiative that brought about peace and unity among Nsukwe people in Lagos, Mr Chinedu Dick had reiterated his poise not be part of the reunion, saying that he was still standing his ground and would never be part of the Nsukwe Developement Association In a telephone interview he had with Ubscope News, Mr Dick said that he would not attend any meeting under the umbrella of the Nsukwe Developement Union in Lagos now or in future  '" the only association  I recognize and will always attend her meetings is Nsukwe Isielu Development Union." He said When reminded that some members of Nsukwe Isielu Development Union in Lagos like Chief C,C Ekeke  have identified with Nsukwe Developement Association and are now attending her meetings,  he said " my stand on the issue at hand is different from theirs and therefore l am not shifting my position not to be part of Nsukwe Developement Association now or in future"

REMEMBERING AN ICONIC PHILANTROPIST, OJIMADU NWAEZE 18 YEARS AFTER

 29th October, 2006 was, surely, not a day to be forgotten in a hurry, in the annals of Nigeria history. It was a day, an ADC Airliner crashed moments after take off from Abuja. 105 people  were on board the flight to Sokoto when it crashed into a field about 2km from the runaway. 100 people, including our beloved Sir Ojimadu Nwaeze  died. In Ubakala,  it was a rude shock as people wept openly and business activities came to a stand still. The death of Sir Ojimadu Nwaeze was a big blow  to Ubakala people. Never in history of Ubakala had a man imparted so much positive visible contributions that completely turned around the fortune of many in the clan. His name was synonymous with charity and hope to  the hopeless in Ubakala and surrounding communities. His humanitarian activities knew no bound. When we talk about the biggest farewell parties so far in NIPOST, one cannot leave out the Farewell Party of the legendry Rev (Mrs) O.O Danso, who retired  from public service on 22nd August, 2021 on attainment of 60 years of age. The event took place at the National Mail Distribution Center, Shomolu on Friday, 20th August, 2021 and was withnessed by major big guns in Nigerian Postal Service from Abuja, Benin, Ibadan, and  Lagos. It was a really big and massive send off party. Present at the epoch making event were the former Postmaster General, Engr. U.I.U (F),AUGUST MEETING: LAGOS TO MAKE CASE AGAINST COMPULSORY REGISTRATION/COLLECTION OF DUES/LEVIES BY HOME CONFERENCE

 Ubakala Improvement Union (F) will hold her August meeting on 21st August, 2021 at Ubakala Town Hall, Apumiri. The meeting will be the first since the out break of covid in 2020  According to a release by the Secretary General of the union, Chief Uwaoma Nzenwa and made available to Ubscope News, the executive meeting will hold on the preceding day which is 20th August, 2021 at Elder Friday Ogbuehi's place. On the agenda are items like Security, Ubakala history , electricity , Presentation of motorcycles to vigilante members, etc. Although, not on the agenda, Lagos conference is expected to make a case against the compulsory registration and collection of monthly dues/levies by home meeting from members resident outside Ubakala. Is important to note that many communities at home are insisting that those residing outside Ubakala whom they refer  to as the 'abroadian' must register at home and pay their monthly dues/levies to the home meeting if they want to be accorded the...

EFCC ARRESTS EX ABIA GOVERNOR ORJI AT ABUJA AIRORT

 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested  the  former governor of Abia State, Senator Theodore Orji at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The ex governor who has been on the commission's watch list was intercepted at about 10 a.m this morning and brought to the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja for continuation of his interrogation. Orji is presently being quizzed alongside  his son Chinedu, who is the Speaker of  Abia State House of Assembly. Chinedu turned himself in this afternoon upon learning of the arrest of his father. Senator Orji and his son, Chinedu and Ogbonna are under investigation by the EFCC for alleged misappropriation of public funds and money laundering to the tune of #551 billion  (Punch)

All is set for the send off of the Traditional Prime Minister of Abam Autonomous Community, His Highness Chief Charles Kalu and his amiable wife Osote Ugoeze Queensly Nwayiugbo Kalu, who are retiring back home, after several years of sojourning in Lagos. The event which will take place at Power Penticostal Church Hall by Cele B/stop on Saturday 28th August, 2021 by 1pm, is expected  to attract large number of members of Ubakala Improvement Union, Lagos as well as as their friends and well wishers The President, Ubakala Improvement Union, Lagos, Mr. Columba Nduaguibe during a recent monthly  meeting of the Union, urged all members to turn out enmass with their wives to honour the departing  TPM, whom he said has contributed immensly to the Development of the union He thanked God for his life and for making it possible for him to return back home in good health. NSUKWE UNIFICATION: THOSE OPPOSED TO THE PROCESS STAND TO LOSE

Nsukwe Developement Union, Lagos held her  monthly meeting for the month of August  on 1st August, 2021 with members from both Nsukwe isielu and the mainstream attending. It was the first meeting since the historic unification of 4th July, 2021. However, some of the protagonists who opposed the peace process were conspicuously absent, a pointer that they were yet to shift ground. According to a source who was at the meeting, this group has no choice but to  be part of the unification, as they have more to gain than to lose.    He opined that their continued opposition to the peace process  would mean that they would be denied all the benefits derived from being a member of Mbaiyi Development Union and Ubakala improvement Union.  Explaining further, he said  "Nsukwe Developement Union is currently   compiling a list of her members in Lagos to be forwarded to Ubakala improvement  Union.
